THERADIOSHAQ: First of all, where did the name La’Rixkie
come from?
LARIXKIE: My pops always told me there are two things with
value in this world, Your Name and Brand. I just thought being myself would say
a lot for my name. I only put the X in it to differ from other Rickie's
THERADIOSHAQ: What made you get into
rapping?
LARIXKIE: My Father is a
Dj. He always installed music into my life because he's a big music
lover. Growing up he used to have the house blasting with
difference genres of music.
In my teens I used to play around with my homies on the Mac book rapping on different internet beats. I decided to start taking it serious after my hoop dreams look like they were coming to an end and my life was taking a toll down a whole new road. I realized living in this city most people are here today and gone tomorrow. I figured through my music I could live forever. I hooked up with Producer Supa Dezzy whose grandfather is a Music Pioneer "Dave Bartholomew" and he told me I think it’s time you leave them internet beats alone and start using original beats. I brought my first beat ever from Supa Dezzy and ever since he's been pushing me to continue.

THERADIOSHAQ: How did you develop your current sound?
LARIXKIE: When My Music First Started Getting Heard by
People everyone was saying that I sound kind of like drake,
dizzy wright & Curtis Williams, which is not bad but who wants to sound
like someone else? So I keep thinking of ways to get my message through
without sounding like someone else.
I put my soul into my words and speak from my heart. I am still working on a sound that will catch the world's ear.

THERADIOSHAQ: What other musicians influence your music?
LARIXKIE: Nas, Spitta, Wiz & dizzy wright. I fw a
few only because they put on for the city. & they can tell you how it
really is. They influence my music in ways that allow me to tell my story. When
I say these artist I'm talking about old ish.
THERADIOSHAQ: Where did the idea for the Prayers mixtape
come from?
LARIXKIE: Me and Dezzy was Working on iLLSummer wrapping up
on finishing touches, I was going through a lot of things in my personal
life, and we talked for while about it all. He said all we can do is
pray for better times and stuck with him to create and entitle the ep
prayers.
THERADIOSHAQ: Do you feel like the sound on Prayers will be
the sound you go forward with?
LARIXKIE: Only thing we can do is progress from here,
but I feel like my next project may be a little too different for the
public.
THERADIOSHAQ: Were you nervous about some of the artwork for
Prayers being blasphemous?
LARIXKIE: Yeah I was kind of skeptical but then
I was like well I'm smoking at the table and every one of the disciples to me
looks like they are judging me in a sort of way but I chose the final
Cover Art of the Mixtape in the prayer position to keep it sweet & simple.
THERADIOSHAQ: Which artist in the city do you look at and
say “they’re really doing it as well”?
LARIXKIE: A lot artist in the city grinding but
young greatness really doing it. He holding it down for the city right now...
THERADIOSHAQ: What’s next for you after Prayers?
LARIXKIE: Working on these Group tapes MobbedOut SupCrewMob Mixtape,
and FinesseGang Dropping Loyalty&Loot. Couple collabs with some other
artist. Leaving for Cali to Start on My Album so the best has yet to come.
THERADIOSHAQ: How clutch is it to have a girl that fully
supports your hustle, and compliments you while you’re out getting it?
LARIXKIE: Its Cool knowing that you have someone
backing you. Like Hov got Beyoncé only if my girl could sing. But she be
holding it down I can't front...
THERADIOSHAQ: Is it hard to have as open, and as popular of
a relationship as you guys have, in the rap business?
LARIXKIE: It isn’t hard when two people have
mutual understanding of their feelings for one another. No matter how
"popular" the relationship gets as long as there trust and
communication everything should be good.
THERADIOSHAQ: When did you know it was time to put Prayers
out?
LARIXKIE: I knew I was ready to put prayers out after I
recorded never back down and ziggler da wiggler walked in and asked who was on
the song when they told him that it was me he said "you gotta let me
talk my shit on there for you oh boyyy" right then I knew it was ready.
THERADIOSHAQ: Any message for your fans and supporters?
LARIXKIE: If no one supports what you do
or what you are passionate about DO IT! Don’t let nothing or no
one stop you from doing what you love. "Strength in Self Brings forth
Courage"
